Ilene Marie Tognini, Of Counsel
Ilene Marie Tognini brings more than 18 years of experience to the firm, specializing in compliance, reporting, ethics, and best practices for non-profit institutions that place a high priority on operational transparency. She advises national and international 501c organizations including charitable, religious, sports, educational, and arts organizations.
Ms. Tognini was at the forefront of the interpretation and implementation of FASB 116 and 117. She guided many of the nation’s largest art institutions in the establishment of compliance practices throughout the life cycle of a contribution: solicitations, accounting interface, acknowledgments and reporting.
She is a principal of Praesidia Consulting Group, and has advised many prestigious international clients including the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Dia Center for the Arts; Wat Lao Bodgaya, in Gaya, India; and Maestro Lorin Maazel’s Castleton Festival.
Ilene holds a Juris Doctor, a BA in Sculpture, and a BA in Scenic Design. She is a member of the New York Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
She has traveled the globe with performing arts groups serving in business leadership roles as well as an artistic collaborator. She participated in a series of collaborations with physicists to produce multidisciplinary viewer interactive installations and has been featured on National Public Radio’s
Performance Today.
Ms. Tognini serves on the Board of Directors of George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts and is co-chairing the 2011 Arts by George! Auction. She serves on the Board of Wat Lao Buddhavong, plays polo, serves as a Committee Member of the United States Polo Association, and on the Board of Middleburg Polo Academy.
